No it doesn’t blink Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Pathfinder yourself? What have you tried so far? It just happened so I plan on taking it to a local Pep Boys

Hi, my name is\*\*\*\*\*’ve been a technician on Just Answer since 2007 and I'll be helping you today. I'm sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your vehicle. I know how inconvenient car trouble is, but together, we will get your vehicle back up and running quickly. May I ask whom I am chatting with today?

HI Eddy, it's nice to meet you. It sounds like a possible issue with the VDC itself. Sometimes the check engine light will trigger the VDC and traction control lights to come on. When that happens, it can put the truck in fail safe mode. Getting the code checked is the best place to start so I can provide a more detailed answer. It's possible it's a speed sensor that's being triggered and causing the truck to go into failsafe. Let me know the codes and we can go from there.

I would have to take it in to get the codesI'll be doing that in the morning
Automotive Expert
Ok I would say post them here in the morning. It sounds to me like the trucks VDC thought it was sliding and that caused the power loss. This can be caused by a bad wheel speed sensor, steering angle sensor or the yaw rate sensor. Of course the computer can fail as well, so this will give us an idea of which one is causing the issue and we can do some checks from there.

Thanks, \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* just reply here and I will get it.

Good morning Eddy. These all point to a problem with the throttle body on the truck. Is the truck currently driving normally?
Automotive Expert
Ok, This could just be a glitch in the throttle body electrics, I think you should clear the codes and if the issue returns then deal with it. This is because since it's operating normally now, there's not any testing that's going to show a problem if that makes sense.

Got it. Thanks
