Q: Knocking/using octane

asked by on June 30, 2017

Hello..I am currently on a long vacation outside the u.s and where I am the gasoline is terrible and its scorching hot .. I mean all the cars especially small engines are knocking like crazy including my bmw 525..when I turn my a.c on and want to move in reverse or when I'm in a red light and lift my foot off the brake the car starts knocking and turns off unless I quickly give it gas. Knocking is normal here with all cars because of the bad gasoline.. Can I use an octane booster to help? Thanks
