Please clarify one part to a 5/2 answer (below). On the ’17-’18 Kia Soul it was okay to screw into the footrest metal under the plastic, but on the ’21 I’m not certain what, if anything, is in that footrest cavity to where drilling 4ea. 1/4-20 screws .38-50” deep into the metal is okay. I appreciate your expertise! Thank you.Hello and welcome to just answer. My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I will assist you today. I am sorry you are having this issue, but hopefully I can help. Yes you can drill the foot rest and screw on a cover on the 2021. It is just plastic and will be fine drilling into it.

Since you were not able to reply to the info request I sent. I cannot be as accurate and thorough as I would like in my answer. I hope what I can provide does help. As long as the screw do not pierce any module, electrical components, or wiring then you should be fine. Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Press reply if you need to follow up. If you liked my answer please let me know so I can mark your question complete. Moose

2021 Kia Soul EX) Chris, excuse my delayed response. I sure enjoyed Tennessee, when we flew into Nashville and drove to the Talladega race. As for screwing versus gluing a (less COF) plate onto the existing kick panel, 3ea. 1/4-20 x 50-.75” lg. counter-sunk screws (.25-.50” into the metal) would hold the new cover, but I want to know if there are any electrical/lube lines directly under that metal area. The Michigan dealer’s service dept. hesitantly said no. I’d like a schematic or someone who has seen inside the cavity area. No, I’m unable to remove the kick panel and as my dim photo shows, all seems molded into the factory flooring. The ’17-18 year Kia’s sold screw-on into metal surface plates, but again, I’m double checking for the ‘21. My good neighbor is making the plate to help with sluggish left foot (disability), but I told him to wait for more info. I also talked to a Kia dealer parts/service dept. in Denver, who seemed clueless. Thank you for any info/source direction such as a schematic. Diane in Denver

Diane, what are you wanting to add to the left footrest on the floor?

Chris, just a .25" thk aluminum plate.

If you use short screws, then you should be fine.

Engine turns over good but won't start what might be the problem? It misfired one time and hasn't started since.
Your engine requires spark, air, and fuel to start and run properly. Air is almost always present so that leaves spark and fuel.
