Q: Is a manual transmission check plug the same thing as a drain plug

asked by on

I was told my manual transmission check plug was stripped and I need to replace it I can't find one. But I can find drain plugs so I was wondering if that is the same thing

My car has 137000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Hello there, thanks for writing in. You can go ahead and try to add the drain plugs. I am pretty sure they are the same size on these transmissions.
