Q: Axle interchangeability?

im swapping in a new front axle for my 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo quadra drive i salvaged one from a 2000 grand cherokee selec-trac so i was wondering if you could tell me if the gear ratios are the same and the axle over all should work with my jeep
