Q: Ignition not turning.

asked by on January 14, 2016

The ignition is stuck. When I put the key in the ignition, it won't turn.

This is a common problem with the Ford Focus. Most likely, the ignition cylinder is bad and requires replacement. A certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, will be able to repair this for you.

This is caused by the 1 to 2 clutch sealing rings inside the transmission. The transmission should be checked to verify - but this is the most common problem. The transmission will need to be removed and overhauled to be...

Hi there. The code C1130 (http://www.autocodes.com/c1130_nissan.html) that was cleared was either for the ECM (computer to the vehicle) or the ABS controller unit having a fault. Fuel pump
Make sure the fuel gauge is actually accurate. Maybe "half a tank" is "empty"? It is relatively easy to rule out the fuel pump by testing the pressure on the fuel rail but that will not tell you anything about...
I keep hearing a popping/clunking sound on the right front passenger side of my truck near the right tire.
The sound might be related to a worn suspension component. From what you are describing, it should be fairly easy to pin down with static testing (e.g., ball joints should only move "so much" during a test). To pinpoint the...
Shifting
If you have no reverse gear, it's probably pointless to diagnose the other issues. A known, common issue in this transmission (you probably have the Ford 5R110) is breakage of a snap ring on the Low/Reverse one way clutch. That...
