Hi there. Thanks for contacting us today. P1684 means that power to your powertrain control module (PCM) was interrupted. The most common cause of this is because of a weak battery. Anytime you start a car with a battery that has low cranking amps, a voltage can drop quickly, which triggers this code. While replacing the battery is commonly the best repair solution, it’s also possible that wiring to the PCM is bad or corroded. The best way to resolve this issue is to have a professional mechanic come to your location and determine the right repair solution.
