what am I looking at for a cost in changing fuses won't help
Automotive Expert
HI, Depending up which module was damaged or if it is the alternator or fuse box, repair costs will run from $350 to $700 parts and labor

Will it hurt to drive the car
Automotive Expert
HI, If the alternator was damaged, it will drain the battery fairly quickly if driven.

I've driven at about 80 miles and nothings happened yet
Automotive Expert
HI Then it is possible that the alternator is not what was damaged and it is one of the other control modules I mentioned, which those will not cause other issues that would be noticable

you telling me that if the alternator was bad it would be shown ASB brake brakes also the radio wouldn't work the windows wouldn't work in the heater fans wouldn't work
Automotive Expert
HI possible as it would cause a charging issue and low voltages to the various electronics.

OkSounds like it would be a main fuse that went out if the radio would not work the heating fans or the windows what would cause that then
Automotive Expert
HI, Except for one little fact - if the main fuse is blown, there will NOT be power to anything in the vehicle. The main fuse supplies power to the 2 fuse boxes, so it if was blown, nothing and I mean nothing on your vehicle would have power

then it's a module then right
Automotive Expert
HI most likely, and most likely the body control module.

Is that something I can change
Automotive Expert
HI While you can replace yourself, the new one does require being programmed with a dealer scan tool. And as the antitheft also goes thru it, if you replace it yourself, you would have to have it towed to a dealer for programming. And you want to call the dealer first before you purchase as some dealers refuse to program control modules customers bought elsewhere and installed themselves.

If it starts and runs why would I have to have it towed to the dealership it's running and driving
Automotive Expert
HI Please reread my answer. I stated that if you replaced the body control module yourself, then you would have to have it towed to the dealer for the new one to be programmed as the antitheft goes thru the body control module and when it is replaced, the vehicle will not start until the new module is programmed.

Sorry no problem
Automotive Expert
no problem.
