How do I shift gears in S mode?

A: Even in S mode, you may want to shift into ...

Even in S mode, you may want to shift into a different gear. You do this by moving the gear shift away from you to upshift or towards you to downshift. The initial range is either a 4 or 5, but it may be switched to 3 if you shift while in D. There are a total of 6 ranges that can be used in S mode.

Tip

The higher the number, the higher the gear. A lower gear will provide greater engine breaking, as long as you don’t over rev the engine.
