Q: How do I reset the oil life display?

asked by on

How do I reset the oil life display?

If you have your car serviced and the technician forgets to reset your oil life display, you can do it easily on your own. Only reset the display if the oil has been changed, though. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Turn the key to II.

  2. Press the select/reset knob until the oil life shows in the dash.

  3. Hold the knob for 10 seconds.

  4. Watch for the display to blink.

  5. Press the knob for another 5 seconds.

  6. Watch for the oil life indicator to change to 100%.

Tip

If the display is not reset after a service, or it is reset without the service being performed, it will no longer be accurate. Make sure it’s reset each time (even if that means doing it yourself).
