Just got my timing belt and all the stuff that comes with that replaced 10 days ago due to a squeal coming from my 07 Honda [odyssey](/topics-odyssey/). It has started again Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the timing belt? Have you ever had to change it before? Its brand new. Maybe 20 miles on it as of today. I have only owned the van for 2 years and this is my first time replacing it Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Odyssey yourself? What have you tried so far? It depends on the problem. I took it to a mechanic and got the timing belt changed as well as all the pulleys etc that are standard for the timing belt change. I thought that was the issue so I haven't tried anything else yet. Thinking possible fan belt or [water pump](/topics-water-pump-honda/) pulley

Welcome Brittney. This could be from the drive belt tensioner. Have them remove the belt and see if the noise stops and if so replace the drive belt tensioner. We see noise from these sometimes. This tensioner is not of the timing belt repair so they likely didn't replace it. Please remember to only rate my answer when you are 100% satisfied. IF you feel the need to click either of the two stars on the left, please stop and reply to me via the CONTINUE CONVERSATION button with the issue you have. I will be happy to continue further and do everything I can to provide you with the service you seek.

Thank you Steve. Any rough estimate on cost to replace this by chance? The timing belt replacement just cost me almost 2,000 10 days ago.Would that coincide with the noise getting worse while on the acceleration

The tensioner is about $180 and labor should be about $130. Any local shop should be able to do these for you. There is nothing special needed. Yes they tend to get louder with engine speed.

The car jack is located with your spare tire, in the trunk. To access the jack, open the trunk, and remove the luggage floor cover.
