Q: Help with Kia Sport shift / TPS

asked by on September 17, 2016

I was wondering with a failing TPS( waiting for part)if I drive in sport shift if that helps. When I am fully automatic it slips and RPMs drop to zero but car still runs. Does the sport shift bypass the TPS?

My car has 100000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The TPS controls the fuel supply in all modes. Changing the mode will not bypass the TPS as this is the car’s method of regulating the amount of fuel being injected into the motor based upon the position of your foot on the gas pedal.
