Q: hard start in the morning

asked by on

I have asked a question two weeks ago but with no answe
My car has a manual transmission.

Hello there. I appreciate you sending this question today. However, without knowing what model of BMW you have, and the mileage on the vehicle, it’s very difficult to give you an accurate idea as to why your car is hard to start in the morning. In general however, a leading reason why cars have this problem is due to the fact that fuel pressure is not held up to the injectors overnight. This issue is typically caused by a bad fuel pump check valve, or the fuel pressure regulator is leaking down the pressure. The best way to determine this is to have the fuel pressure leak down and pressures checked which should pinpoint the source of the failure. A good way to simplify the search is to have a professional mechanic complete a car is hard to start inspection first
