Q: Driver's side door won't open

asked by on

I can't open the driver's side door.

A: If the driver side door will not open then ...

If the driver side door will not open then most of the time this is caused by a broken door latch that should be repalaced. If neither handle works then the latch is broken inside of the door or the locking mechanism is not releasing. A mechanic would typically start by removing the door panel, which is difficult when the door cannot be opened, to see what is not engaging. From there the problem can be fixed.
