Q: Car is not going into reverse.
My 5 speed transmission will go in all of the gears, except reverse.
Hi there. If your shifter will go into every gear except for reverse then you either have a bad synchronizer in the transmission or you have a shifter assembly failure. If the shifter will go into reverse with the engine off then it is typically the synchronizer. If not then it is the shifter assembly. You should have a transmission specialist take a look at it as they can easily diagnose this.
