Q: Back light not turning on

asked by on

The back light in my car won't turn on at night.

There are many lights in the rear of the car; they are easy to test. The bulb is usually the problem. If it is not, then he circuit will need to be inspected. Check the fuse, check the socket, check for power and ground. I recommend having a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, come out to your car’s location to run a diagnostic inspection of your rear lights, and suggest the best path to repair.

I would suspect that that there is a problem with the socket for the light bulb. Corrosion will build up in the bulb socket and not allow power, or ground, to get to the bulb. If the bulb is okay,...
