Q: Attempting to start the car makes a loud grinding noise and will evertually start after 10+ tries. What do you think I need?

asked by on March 26, 2018

When I attempt the start the car it will turn over but will make a loud grinding noise. I mess with the clutch and the gear box and attempt to start it 10+ times and then will eventually start and it drives fine! What could be the issue with it? I'm afraid eventually it won't finally start on my 15th attempt

My car has 130000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

After hour or so driving, engine starts to sputter as if not receiving fuel. Stop for 10 mins and it runs fine.
