Q: Are these two Ford Explorers engines compatible?
Is a 1996 Ford Explorer VIN 1FMDU34X5TZB81865 compatible with a 2000 Ford Explorer VIN 1FMZU74E6YZ039016 for engine swap? They look so different under the hood and the 2000 is out of time and we need it running. The 1996 was totaled but the engine and transmission are completely fine. If they aren't, is there any way to rebuild the 2000 model to where it will take the 1996 models engine? Thank you in advance.
