Q: ABS AND TRAC OFF LIGHTS

asked by on

ABS AND TRAC LIGHTS COMES ON ON TAKE OFF OR WHEN DRIVING

My car has 180000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

A: Hello. If your ABS and Trac Off lights are ...

Hello. If your ABS and Trac Off lights are coming on, this is related to a wheel bearing failure. General Motors has a common problem with wheel bearing failures on almost all models from Chevy to Cadillac. The best thing to do is to have the wheel bearing replaced by a qualified mechanic and the lights on the dash should go away. It is not a bad idea to replace wheel bearings in pairs if possible, due to the fact that they have both usually been on the vehicle the same amount of time and therefore should be replaced around the same time. A technician from YourMechanic can replace your car’s wheel bearings at your home or office.
