Q: 2012 chevy cruze eco 1.4t 6speed, put new ram short air intake in.Do I need to buy new mass air flow sensor since it get more air?

I have a 2012 chevy Cruze eco 1.4T 6speed and I put new ram short air intake in it. When you throufh first and second gear it feels like the car stop sucking air and spits it out, which causes me to shift at lower rpm and takes longer to get up to speed. Would putting new mass air flow sensor in help or whst would you suggest? Thanks in advance!
