Q: 2011 Ford Fusion Sport wont reverse and smells like its burning

asked by on January 11, 2018

About a week before it happened it would chug when I would go in reverse and smell like rubber burning. Now it wont go in reverse. I was driving home Christmas night and I turned left at the corner and it got stuck in very little snow. It took forever to get it pulled to the side of the road. It just didn't want to reverse

My car has 120000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

You may have damaged the transmission when you got stuck in the snow and will need to have the systems checked to see if the transmission needs internal repairs. Have a mechanic like one from YourMechanic come to you to check the systems for you.

Clutch failure on 2½yr old Peugeot 107 having done 1,500 miles
Hello. This clutch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-clutch-last) would fail prematurely for two reasons, assuming that the vehicle is driven easily. Either the clutch is not fully releasing and is dragging due to the system holding pressure, or the clutch is defective. Most of...

Hi there, thanks for writing in. It's highly unlikely that the computer is damaged, especially with only 48,000 miles on the vehicle. You may have an issue with your key or the ignition system that is causing some electrical gremlins...
My fan for my a c and heater is only blowing air on 2 3 and 4 settings but not 1
The blower motor resistor, in the motor speed control circuit, is probably faulty. If your vehicle does not have automatic temperature control, the part that needs to be replaced is relatively inexpensive. If you desire a definitive diagnosis, and replacement...
