With a personalized license plate, you can show public support for your favorite college sports team, advertise your family’s business, give a shout out to a family member or spouse, or simply share a short word or sentiment with the world.

In Oklahoma, it’s very quick and simple to order a personalized license plate. Furthermore, a personalized license plate is also a very affordable purchase. So if you’ve been looking for a way to add some customization to your car, a personalized license plate may be perfect for you.

Part 1 of 3: Choose a personalized plate color

Step 1: Go to the specialty license plate page. Visit the Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Division specialty license plate page.

Step 2: Look through the personalized plate selection. View the available personalized plate designs.

  • Tip: If you would like a specialized license plate design, click on one of the other available links from the page in Step 1. Oklahoma offers dozens of specialized license plate designs, ranging from professional sports teams, to military alumni, to organization support. However, specialized license plate designs cannot be personalized.

Step 3: Pick a plate color. Choose the plate color that you would like for your personalized license plate.

All of the personalized plate design colors cost the same amount of money.

Part 2 of 3: Order your personalized license plates

It must include a minimum of four letters and a maximum of three numbers, if the letters and numbers are not intermingled. If the characters are intermingled, there are no restrictions.
