What does the Side Air Bag Off light mean on the dash?

Your car is equipped with a passenger side air bag to protect against possible injury during an accident. However, if you notice the Side Air Bag Off light on in the dash, it might mean there’s something wrong with the system. It could also mean something else. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. The light will come on when you start the car. It should go out shortly after.

  2. If the light comes on at any other point, it means that the passenger side air bag has been turned off. This could be because:

  • If there’s no one in the seat and the light turns on, the system is malfunctioning and needs to be inspected.

  • If someone is in the seat, it means they are not sitting correctly and the air bag has been turned off to prevent potentially harming them during deployment.

it screams when I push the gas petal to accelerate the rpm rev high causing it to act like its losing power going up hill
This sounds like the transmission is slipping. I recommend having a transmission mechanic diagnose the slipping by checking transmission pressures, checking for trouble codes (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-is-the-on-board-diagnostics-obd-system), or checking for any solenoids that are not letting it shift.
Have to accelerate slowly or dies
Hey there. This problem of stalls on acceleration (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/car-shuts-off-when-stepping-on-gas-pedal-inspection) is most likely caused by the carburetor accelerator pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/accelerator-pump-replacement) is not pumping fuel into the engine when the throttle is pressed. This explains the vehicle running great at steady speeds...
What does 'auxiliary battery malfunction' mean? Also, I hit a trailer and broke a taillight yesterday, should I go to repair shop or dealer?
Your car has two batteries. One conventional sized battery manages the heavy loads like the starter and one smaller battery manages the body loads. The smaller battery is the auxiliary battery and it must be failing. Part of the point...
