Q: Steering wheel makes noise

asked by on

There is a noise when steering the car, especially on turns.

A: If the noise is a moaning type of sound, yo...

If the noise is a moaning type of sound, you may be low on fluid. If the fluid is low you probably have a leak. Leaks can develop in the power steering pump, hoses or the rack and pinion. Continuously being low on fluid will damage the hydraulic steering components and make it very difficult to steer. Seek the help of a qualified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, to help you determine where the leak is coming from.
