Q: Oil light comes on when braking
My oil light flickers on when I tap the brakes
My car has 250000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
You should first check to make sure the oil level is full. If system is full of oil then you should have the oil pressure checked to see if it is in specifications. The problem sounds like when you are stopping the oil pump is loosing pressure due to the oil pickup is catching air from low oil level. However with over 250,000 miles you may have an oil pump wear issue and need to replace it.
