Q: Oil leaking from oil pan gasket

asked by on

I have engine oil leaking from the oil pan gasket.

The oil pan gasket is made from a rubber compound and if the pan is over tightened the rubber is pushed out and will cause the pan to leak. The system needs to be checked to make sure there are no leaks from any component above the oil pan that is leaking down on to the pan. I recommend having the oil leaks checked by a qualified mechanic, like one from YourMechanic.
