Q: Noise Comes Out From My Engine

asked by on January 13, 2017

Greetings,

this is what is going on in my car. When I started my car, there is noise coming from my engine. I believe it comes from the area around timing belt, but I am not sure. This is happened last week. It was fine when I went to my friend's house, but not until when I was trying to go back home. It is weird where I only stayed there about 6 hours and all the sudden it didn't run properly. I stopped driving every since I heard this noise because it doesn't seem to be a good sign for me. Please, if you could, tell me what is going on and what should I do, from your experience.

I am only a study right now. I am not sure if I can afford the repair. Therefore, I really wish to know an estimate price.

Lastly, I am wondering if I select a wrong service, would you guys tell me and do the right service for me and charge for the price of that correct one? Also, I have other concerns in my car. Can I ask the mechanic once he or she arrives to my place?

Thank you

My car has 68000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

It sounds as though you have a coolant leak. It may be a small one and it could be that you didn't get it topped off correctly. Pouring coolant into the overflow tank doesn't necessarily do the trick. You have...

Your vehicle was equipped with Chrysler's 66RFE transmission. This transmission model has not been hugely problematic and I do not see many reports of the type of failure you are describing. I see only one similar report of shift failure,...
