Q: Crankshaft pulley removal

asked by on

Need to knowing the crank pulley is loosened clock wise or counter clock wise ..

My car has 223000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello. Some crankshafts use a reverse thread for the pulley, however that does not appear to be the case for your vehicle. You should be able to remove it by loosening the bolt counter clockwise, same as most bolts. Removing the crankshaft for this vehicle requires a hex crankshaft pulley holder tool with a breaker bar, or an high torque impact wrench.
