Q: My valve gasket cover stretched.

asked by on

My valve gasket cover stretched and it doesn't seem to want to go back on I'm trying sealant to hold it down but it's still too long now

My car has 150000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there. You can either replace the seal or try taking it and putting it in a freezer for about 30 minutes and then install it on to the valve cover. This will condense the material and shorten it up some. If you need further assistance with your valve cover gasket seal, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.
