Hello, thank you for writing in. The vehicle has rocker arms that control the valves where the fuel and air enter the engine, and the valves that channel the exhaust gasses out of the engine. With these rocker arms are actuators that push the rocker arms based on mechanical lobes on the camshaft that are responsible for the valve timing. The actuators can become clogged, stick, and restrict the function of the rocker arm, which on your vehicle is monitored electronically. The code you are receiving is letting you know this is the case, and you need to take corrective action. You may only need an oil and oil filter change, or there may be a more serious issue going on. Only further inspection will tell, and you should have it looked as ASAP. For more help, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.

Rubbing/vibrating noise from front end
Hello. From what you describe it would appear that your tire may be making contact with something and causing the noise and vibration. Noises can be difficult to diagnose without driving the vehicle, however if you have determined what wheel...
2500 RPM idle on cold start. Is this normal? If not, then is it due to a cold start injector?
A higher than normal idle can be due to a stuck open idle control valve or a vacuum leak in the intake when the engine is cold. You may have a bad cold start injector system. I would recommend having...
Smoke comming from vent by windsheild wiper on hood and tail pipe.

Need my 2004 Freestar camsfaft synchronizer replaced, cost?? 2004 Ford Freestar
Hi there - from your description, it is hard to tell whether you need the [camshaft position sensor](https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-camshaft-position-sensor-last, or the camshaft position actuator (sometimes called the variable valve timing actuator or solenoid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/variable-valve-timing-vvt-solenoid-replacement)). 3 day old car engine smoking & smell of burnt rubber. Is it burntout clutch?
If it's a new car, and you were using the clutch properly and yet it "failed", that might be a warranty issue. Of course, there are rubber belts and other parts that can fail and smoke. The diagnosis would be...
My car squeals when in reverse & in first gear. It stops when the car is warmed up. Any idea what's wrong?
This is a common sign of a loose or worn belt. Over time, your car's engine belts (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/loud-squealing-or-squeaking-is-coming-from-timing-belt-inspection) may become worn causing them to stretch. When this happens as you press the gas pedal and the belt goes from a...
What does it mean when a car acts like it's in neutral when it's in drive? I finally got it & won't accelerate over 40?
You may have an internal transmission problem and will need to have the computer scanned to see if there are codes stored indicating the failure.
Wobble in front left tire
Hi Andy. Thanks for contacting us today. Typically a wobble that occurs from 40 to 60 mph is going to be caused by tire balance issues, wheel bearing failure, or a loose tie rod, or CV joint. You might want...
