Q: I was wondering how much it would cost to get my valve lifters replaced in my car or if its easier to do my self

asked by on July 06, 2017

My jeep has developed a lifters tick i believe. The oil gauge in the cabin is really high for a couple minutes then goes back down to normal although the ticking never really stops. My Jeep is older and has a small oil leak but i don't know if it is significant. I also want to know about the average cost of fixing the lifter valve ticking?

My car has 230000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Replacing alternator on my 2000 Rav4. Is there a bolt under alternator on bottom left?
The adjusting bracket has one bolt, Toyota Part number 91621-60845. The adjusting bolt that you broke is part number 90119-08299. This bolt should not bottom out so you should check for the possibility that the belt is the wrong size...

I have a po420 code and suspect my flex pipe between the two cats is leaking. Could that be a possibility of why that code is comi
The downstream oxygen sensor (post converter) monitors the efficiency of the catalytic converter. If there is no downstream sensor after the second converter then the P0420 code cannot arise from a fault there. Exhaust leaks have to repaired anyway, due...
I'm replacing my gas cap with a regular black one though I drive an e85 flexfuel that's got a yellow cap, is that ok?
Gas caps are no longer mundane, low tech devices. The only replacement gas cap that a knowledgeable, professional mechanic will recommend is an OEM cap, supplied by the dealer, and matched to your vehicle VIN number. Any other cap, including...
Lack of power and engine is roaring
What you are describing sounds like you may have a clogged or damaged catalytic converter. My oil light came on way before it usually does after getting a battery replaced.
It could be that the service reminder was affected by having the battery disconnected for a short time. These days, it is wise for a technician to hook up an alternative power source while changing the battery to prevent memory...
