Q: I was backing out of a sloped driveway and my car stalled and the oil light came on.

asked by on December 31, 2017

I was backing out of a sloped driveway and my car stalled and the oil light came on. It was in snow so the tires spun a bit then it cut off. I turned it off and back on and it was working fine. Would the below 0 temps have anything to do with it?

My car has 112000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Brown stuff coming from the radiator.

there was a rattle, which just disappeared but was replaced by a catalytic converter light.... can I still drive?
I can't say with any assurance whether it's OK to drive without hearing the rattle myself. It really could be anything and I'd need more information. But I'm going to guess that your catalytic converter is coming apart on the...
