Hey I have a Hyundai [sonata](/topics-sonata/) 05 v6, was driving it earlier and the rpms just started dropping all of a sudden. Now it has never happened before. so I pulled over put it in idle it seemed to fluctuate weird so turned off waited a bit started back up drove the same distance if not further and it never happened again, I thought it could be the tps Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded? Battery is new, I could clean the terminals I suppose Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sonata yourself? What have you tried so far? Nothing so far as it hasn't happened again and I did get any codes or engine light. Yes I usually fix my car myself Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? All spark plugs and wires have been replaced

Hello and welcome to Just Answer. I'm Paul, I will help you with your question today. first thing I would try is clean the Mass Air flow sensor see location below. [https://peapull.com/o/1603299593.pdf](https://peapull.com/o/1603299593.pdf) For idle RPM problems you may have a problem with the idle air control see below. [https://peapull.com/o/1603299623.pdf](https://peapull.com/o/1603299623.pdf) Below is info on TPS. [https://peapull.com/o/1603299640.pdf](https://peapull.com/o/1603299640.pdf) I would start by checking the computer for fault codes and cleaning the mass air flow sensor. if its running fine now without codes it might be hard to pinpoint which is failing. If you need more help just reply, and let me know. When you are satisfied with my answer please remember to rate my answer. Positive feedback is also appreciated. Thank you, Paul
