Q: Going into fail safe mode

the tcm keeps going into fail safe mode
My car has an automatic transmission.

The powertrain control module is programmed to go into a fail safe mode whenever there is a major failure in the transmission or engine. You will need to have the vehicle scanned to get the failure codes so it can be diagnosed.
