Q: Getting Engine light code P144C

asked by on February 17, 2016

I am getting and Engine light code P144C. I think I need to replace the EVAP check valve.

The most common cause to this code is a fuel cap that is lose or not sealing. I would check the fuel cap to see if its lose or replace the cap altogether to see if that code will go away. If the code remains, it could be the EVAP check valve at the fuel tank that is stuck open or closed and needs to be replaced.
