asked by on February 17, 2016

The gear selector is stuck and won't allow the key to be removed, or start the car. It's showing that it's stuck in Sport's mode.

The shift cable may have come off of the shift selector, or the cable has broken. This would not let the key out of the ignition, since you have to be in Park, and you cannot start unless you are in Park. I recommend having a mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, inspect your stuck gear selector to identify and quote the repairs needed.
