Q: gas leak from top of the tank observed upon oil change

asked by on

small gas leak from the top of the gas tank. cost to fix it

My car has 132000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The cost to repair the leak depends on exactly which component(s) are leaking and whether major components such as the fuel tank, straps and so forth are re-usable once removed. The leak could be in a tube, fuel pump pump gasket seal, rubber hose and so forth. Only an inspection will reveal exactly what must be repaired and at what part and labor cost. Whether the leak is in the steel supply and return lines, rubber hoses, or even the gas tank, it will be repairable though. If you desire a firm estimate and repair of the leak by a certified Mechanic, dispatched by YourMechanic right to your location, please request a fuel leak inspection and diagnostic - tubing and tank and the responding certified mechanic will get this estimated and resolved for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.
