Q: Front wheel bearing needs replacing

asked by on

The car was driven too long with a front wheel bearing that needed to be replaced. It makes a terrible grinding sound now.

My car has 102000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Anytime a bearing is bad and you continue to drive on that bearing you are taking a chance of damaging additional components like hub assemblies, brake rotors, ABS sensors and axles. I would recommend having a mobile mechanic like one from YourMechanic come to you and do a complete inspection to identify all the components that need repaired or replaced.
