I brought my car in for an alignment and check the [brakes](/topics-brake-ford/). It is a 2018 Ford Flex with 60k, The dealer came back and said I need all four rotors replaced, but my front brakes were fine, but my back brakes needed to be replaced. I understand the front rotors, but not when he said the front brakes were fine. It seemed dubious to me. Mechanic's Assistant: How old are the brakes? How many miles on the Ford? About a year Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Flex yourself? What have you tried so far? No. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Yes. The dealership said I needed the brake fluid replaced because it was contaminated. I thought they were a closed system and I never opened it myself

I typically do my own maintenance but this is my girlfriends Ford Flex and she uses the dealership for her maintenance.I am currently in the office, and work limits computer use. I was looking to learn if the dealerships service recommendation was legitimate

Ask the dealer to take you out to the vehicle and show you the brake pad measurements. Anything below 3mm should be replaced soon. Ask them to show you the rotor measurements as well. I'm looking up the specs to send you. As far as the brake fluid goes ask them to show you the brake fluid testing method they used to determine the brake fluid condition. The system is in fact sealed unless opened during maintenance. Rotor spec.

Overheating and cutting off while driving
If the engine is overheating (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/car-is-overheating-inspection) to the point where it's shutting off and blowning coolant out of the tailpipe, you have a bad situation. A failed distributor or cracked coil may cause the engine to stall when warmed up....
Do I have to change the engine mounts and bellhousing when switching to the 3.9l?
