Q: fixing flexplate

There is a small plate that comes with a flexplate, when fixing the flexplate to the engine which comes first.? the plate holds the nuts that hold the flexplate to the crank

My car has 162946 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there, thanks for writing in about your 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. The big flex plate goes first, then the small plate and bolts to hold it all on. The small plate is made to support the large plate from cracking near the crankshaft.
