The engine code you are receiving stands for "Intake Manifold Runner Performance Bank 1". This may mean the vehicle is going to need an new intake manifold, or it may mean the VCMA has failed. This has been an ongoing issue for Kia, and many intake manifolds and VCMAs have been replaced. The valve may have a short, be restricted, or have a bad connection. The manifold runner may also be stuck. However regardless of what is causing the error code, the code and check engine light will not go away until the issue is resolved. The intake manifold needs to be inspected, and if you are not familiar with this type of engine work, seek professional help. If the vehicle is still under warranty, you will want to take it directly to the dealership.
