Q: there is a clutch or transition problem with my car.

so while i was driving one day in a manual passat i notticed a "clink" sound coming from the engine. i pulled over and everytime i put first gear first i t would make the same noice, expecialy when i turned as i gained speed i could notice it less, i just wanted too know if it waas a clutch or transmition problem, it was very hard to change gears.
