I just replaced all the [brakes](/topics-brakes/) and rotors. But now my right rear tire is very hot Mechanic's Assistant: How old are the brakes? How many miles on the car? They are new brakes. Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2004 Chevy Malibu maxx Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Malibu Maxx yourself? What have you tried so far? I just changed the brakes and rotors and drove it down the road. But thats the only tire that's hot. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? That's it

Good Afternoon, my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* ill be helping you, so sorry to hear about the issues here on the Malibu. Did you make sure to push the piston all the way back in on that right rear tire? if not the brake caliper would stay slightly engaged and you would get that extra heat.

That's what I didn't do.
Automotive Expert
yeah that would need to be done. if not the piston keeps the brake pad slightly engaged and you get the heat and friction you have here.

Ok I'll try thank
Automotive Expert
yeah no problem!

It worked man! I appreciate it!
Automotive Expert
pleasure is all mine!
