2000 Impala 3.8L: 1) temp gauge only moves when im warming the vehicle up. Otherwise it doesn't move at all. 2) heater blows cold air coz temp gauge isnt working & it doesnt blow on feet. Like I don't hear a "click" when trying to switch the blower direction. What needs to be replaced in order to fix bit H issues? Please & thank you Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked to make sure the thermostat is working? What about the coolant level? Coolant level is perfect. How do I check the thermostat? Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Impala yourself? What have you tried so far? I haven t tried anything coz idk where to start. Im trying to figure out if its sonething IM capable of fixing myself. Keep in mind IM 60yr female but im also capable of doing most things if they are do-able by a lay person Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Yes!! I had a friend replace my front [brakes](/topics-brakes/) and ever since then the front end shudders violently when braking!!

if the cooling system has been worked on recently ..it is possible that you may now have air trapped in the system lets try bleeding it..do it this way 1-remove the [radiator](/topics-radiator-chevy/)/reservoir cap when the [engine](/topics-engine-chevy/) is cold 2-start the engine and let idle 3-turn the heater on max 4-keep coolant on hand and add it as needed 5-some coolant may gush out with the air 6-keep doing this until the engine is at operating temperature and the heater is hot 7-after the coolant settles down and the engine is warm,,install the cap This may take as long as 20-30 minutes if it is still doing the same thing, then i would think the thermostat is stuck open and will need to be replaced you cant see it so there rally is no way to check it without taking it out please click the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/ls30d9w7565fu4f/0216-impala.pdf?dl=0 - Thermostat part# \*\*\*\*\* thanks

Automotive Expert

Automotive Expert

While driving in cruise control it stopped driving but it didn't cut off
Hello there. A few common faults will cause your cruise control to cut out with your 2009 Ford Explorer. The most common faults would be the cruise control module, throttle cable, throttle body (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/throttle-body-replacement), or a fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement). my car idles high and will not shift out of first gear
Hello - there are several problems which could cause the behavior you mention.
