Q: Can a car jump start with a bad fuel pump?

asked by on December 17, 2016

i believe my fuel pump is bad, i know i need a new battery as well, but this morning i jump started my car and it ran for a minute before dying again. so, do i simply need a battery?

Jump starting due to a bad battery will not make a bad fuel pump start working. I would recommend replacing a bad battery and then doing a thorough diagnosis of the fuel system to diagnose the fuel pump not working.
