The camshaft sensor is stopped working Mechanic's Assistant: Which particular sensor are you asking about? And have any trouble codes been triggered? P0314 Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? Audi quattro A4 2011 Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Quattro yourself? What have you tried so far? I replaced the camshaft position sensor but still am getting p0314 code

Hello I'm Rick from justanswer, sorry to hear about your audi issues as I know how frustrating this can be, if you see a phone call request you can just ignore that as this is generated through justanswer not me personally...these are two common issues on these, one being the camshaft circuit wiring and the other being stretched timing chain, I would start with checking the wiring at the sensor and look for any signs of damage, corrosion etc...

The wires seem pretty solid at the sensor on top of the engine. is there another place i need to look for the wired to be secure
Automotive Expert
You can follow the wires far back as you can and look for any stretches in the jackets....does it run rough at all?

it was running rough and losing power etc before we parked it now it just cranks cranks cranks but wont turn overThere was one time that the dash was reading low oil pressure but the only code i get is P0314
Automotive Expert
If it was loosing power it probably jumped timing....these are pretty common seen it quite a few times...the tensioners loose oil pressure and will slack the timing chainI would check crank and cam marks and see if they look off

I gotcha it wasn't really losing power before we parked it. I think it is something to do to do with the camshaft position sensor. Is there anyway i can test or even bypass the camshaft position sensor to see if the wiring is bad? Also where does the wiring for the camshaft position sensor end?
Automotive Expert
I see...not really anyway to bypass it and make it run right...the wires tie into the fuel pressure sensor Pin.1 green/red at the g40 should have 5volts present with key on Pin T60/29 green/red at the ecm provides this voltage Pin.3 black at the g40 should be a good sensor ground That ground is shared with the knock sensor Pin T60/8 black at the ecm provides this ground Pin T60/54 blue/grey gets signal from the g40 sensor If the g40 sensor pattern is not correct suspect issue with shutter wheel (tone ring).....if the g40 sensor pattern is correct suspect issue with the timing chainSorry if that looks confusing, like I said I would check mechanical timing marks first

Okay i really appreciate the help ill check it out

No problem, best of luck take care

My car is sliding to the side, when i brake
The abs light on (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/abs-light-is-on-inspection) indicates there is a fault in the electronics of the anti-lock braking system. The car is most likely sliding sideways because a wheel, or wheels, are locking up - basically functioning as brakes not equipped...
My car is spitting out coolant when I press on the gas w/ radiator cap on. What could this be?
