Q: AC stopped working

asked by on February 19, 2016

The AC stopped working. May need to replace the AC clutch.

The clutch on the air conditioning compressor is a common failure item and the complete compressor is usually replaced. Once the system is opened, the receiver/dyer or accumulator must be replaced at the same time to ensure proper system operation. I recommend having a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, inspect your AC system for a diagnosis before moving onto any repairs.
