Q: 99 Niss.Max, brake, battery, check engine light on, car died while driving, replac. batt, started and drove and next day won't start

asked by on March 10, 2017

I have a 99 Nissan Maxima SE that I purchased 6 months ago and it had the check engine light on. Owner showed record from mechanic stating no obvious reason for light remaining on so I have drove the car with no issues until a few weeks ago when the brake light came on and stays on and then here in the last week and a half the battery light came on and stayed on. I was heading home and my radio stopped playing and my airbag light started flashing and I lost acceleration. I was able to pull over safely and put the car in park and tried to give it gas and then it just died. So I purchased a battery and the car started immediately, the brake, battery, and check engine lights were still on but I was able to drive it and shut it off and start it fine for a couple of times. Airbag light started flashing again so I parked, shut off engine. Tried restarting but nothing, let sit overnight and it started next morning but to leary to drive it. Lights, radio work but won't start now at all.

My car has 153000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
