Answers to common GMC G3500 questions

Q: Truck spun and hit the curb, now the rear wheel wobbles
Answered by Jay
Hey there. You will need to have the rear rim inspected along with the rear axle to see if one or both are bent. I have also seen where the rear axle housing gets bent if the curb was hit...
Q: The service 4WD/Service Engine Soon Light is on, and my car has front end noise.
Answered by Marvin
Hi and thanks for contacting YourMechanic. This sounds like the front differential has medal particles in the gear assembly, and if so, you will have to remove the differential and have it diagnosed from the inside to see what bearing...
Q: Engine light on, misfire cylinder 6
Answered by Jeff
The rough idle may be related to the low compression in cylinder #6. Low compression (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-do-a-compression-test-by-robert-tomashek) will continue to cause a misfire until it is corrected. This will cause detonation and timing problems which is what indirectly causes the misfire....
Q: Location of the fuel pump 1992 GMC Jimmy
Answered by David
Hello - the fuel pump in your Jimmy is located inside the fuel tank, and is accessed from the top of the tank. This requires removal of the spare tire, and the fuel tank from the vehicle to replace. For...

Trusted by thousands of happy car owners

I have to be honest, this was the first time that, I have EVER felt 'at-ease' around an auto mechanic. Jonas was thorough and straight forward with me about the issues; gave me a quote directly after doing the diagnostics on the car and, as it turned out, it cost me less than the original estimate. When does that ever happen with auto repairs ?? He was friendly, informative and knowledgeable. You folks made the whole experience convenient and painless. I'm "sold" on the "Your Mechanic" concept. I'll probably never take my car again to a traditional mechanic !! Jonas was a pleasure to deal with !

I have to say I am totally satisfied with the service performance and Bernard is quite professional offering details of the work which was completed. I will definitely utilize your service in the future and will recommend to family and friends.

Tom went above and beyond to make me as satisfied as I could be. His communication was excellent. Friendly and professional and best if all, my car is running great and he did it without unnecessary repairs. I would and will highly recommend Tom and Your Mechanic to everyone. Thanks, Rob Miller.
