Q: why all supercars are mid engine

hi can you tell me please that what is the benefit of mid engine layout does mid engine increase the of the car or it is for something else why all supercars are mid engine ? Is it possible that front engine car with mire power beat mid engine car in race waiting for your reply thanks indeed
